SunRain prism suncatchers are chandelier prisms arranged into a pattern like a clock or sunburst. Lead crystal prisms are precision spaced around a center circle and mounted securely with tiny nails. Liquid resin is poured onto the center holding the chandelier pendants. The resin hardens and locks the fastening in place. The 6-inch diameter SunRain brand prism suncatcher comes with a 2-feet long gold-colored chain permanently attached, a lanyard clip to loop back on the chain for easy curtain rod hanging, a microfiber cleaning cloth, a velvet gift bag, and hanging hardware. It comes packed in a hard plastic box to prevent breakage during shipping. Hanging options include a) two thin gold-colored nails for hanging from the window frame, b) a cup-hook for hanging from the ceiling, c) lanyard clip. This round SunRain prism suncatcher is 6 inches across and 1 inch deep. It weighs 24 ounces or 1.5 lbs which is very heavy for a suncatcher. It is heavy because of the 25 two-inch long lead crystal chandelier prisms. The center is 2 inches in diameter. The gold-colored chain is 2-feet long from the suncatcher to the lanyard clip.
SunRain rainbow makers are handmade in small batches of five to ten in my Omaha resin studio. The process takes one week to manufacture parts, assemble prisms, color the center, check and clean. Production uses many different hand tools, jigs, and methods I’ve refined. Each suncatcher comes polished and completely ready to hang in your sun-receiving window or skylight.

Prisms layout at 14.4° angles (360° divided by 25) to optimally receive beams of white sunlight. The Egyptian lead crystal glass has superb optical quality and generates dozens of rainbow spectrums with 7 colors: violet, blue, cyan, green, yellow, orange, and red. The result is a confetti of light projected from the sunny window(s) or skylight in your home. The sunlight is literally bent at the prism in many directions simultaneously, landing on anything. Choose Your Color is the primary option for this listing. Other listings offer a choice of chain color (gold or silver). More listings offer a star pattern which uses different length prisms to outline a starburst. A new listing offers a 7-inch diameter model made with longer prisms or a 5-inch diameter model made with shorter prisms. A glass dome can be set over the center to make the biggest personalization option, engraving. Engraving is ordered as a separate order from my Etsy shop. A glass dome engraved on the flat bottom (mirrored) fits over the center well and is permanently attached. The engraving offers about 30 characters (10 characters per line) in eight different fonts. Engraving adds 7 to 10 days to the processing prior to shipping.
Hanging instructions come included. This document includes care instructions which are very simple. Clean dust off with the provided microfiber cleaning cloth. Do not use windex or glass cleaner. Do not immerse in water. If something sticky needs to be removed from a crystal use isopropyl alcohol on your cleaning cloth. Do not expose it to heat greater than 140°. Do not hang outside unless sheltered from rain.
The product is intended for adult managed households. Customers include personal use, a house warming gift, realtor staging, nursery or play rooms, schools teaching science. Commercial uses are yoga studios, doctors office waiting rooms, wellness situations and assisted living. Daytime wedding reception decoration is a fun idea and the suncatchers can be gifted as favors after the event. Half of my orders have been gifts. The price point is higher than conventional suncatchers but SunRain is a very different product producing better rainbows. It is not beads and glass arranged in a pretty wire frame. It does not use plastic or simple glass. SunRain is made with high quality Asfour chandelier prisms in an attractive design to produce Real Rainbow Lights with vivid color.
