The best prisms on a clear sunny day create the clearest most vivid rainbows. I put 25 lead crystal chandelier prisms together in a sunburst design using poured resin in a well to hold things together. What this 400-facet design made was startling. Dozens of spectrums landed on the walls, floor and ceiling. The spectrums 25 feet from the window were even bigger, over 12 inches long! The colors created in each rainbow ran the full light spectrum from deep violet to red. I found that bright sunny days worked the best. Hazy days not so much. If the suncatcher was hung in a south window the rainbows would move across the room with the sun, changing slowly. They would wiggle if there was a breeze from the window. I tried looking back at my SunRain rainbow maker to land a spectrum right over my eye. I could see the flash of color change and I could move my head to find adjacent colors!
