What It Does
Hang this SunRain rainbow maker in any east, south, or west‑facing window and your room fills with dozens of vivid rainbow spectrums on a clear sunny day. Sunlight hits 25 genuine lead crystal chandelier prisms and fans out into bold bands of color that reach across walls, ceilings, floors, and sometimes into the next room.

Why These Rainbows Are Different
Most suncatchers use plastic or low‑grade glass that produces soft, blurry color. Every SunRain prism is Egyptian 30% lead glass by Asfour Crystal, the same material found in fine chandeliers. Lead glass bends light more sharply, splitting sunlight into distinct, saturated bands of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. Each 2‑inch prism has 16 precision‑cut facets, giving you 400 light‑splitting surfaces and room‑filling color that can reach walls 25 feet away.

Handmade Construction
Each SunRain is built by hand in my Omaha studio. I cast the resin center, set each prism into the radial sunburst pattern one by one, lock everything with epoxy resin and tiny fasteners, then clean, polish, and inspect every connection. No two are exactly alike, but the geometry of the design is fundamental to how well it works.

From the Maker
I first made SunRain for my granddaughter. When she saw the rainbows dancing across her bedroom, she said, “There’s rainbows everywhere!” That reaction is what I hope every customer experiences. I’m a retired engineer turned artist, and SunRain combines the geometry I love with the joy of light. Every piece is made by me, John, in my studio in Omaha, Nebraska.

DO YOU WANT ENGRAVING?

Add $20 each to have one engraved glass dome set above the center well. The cabochon (or dome) is clear so tinting color of the center well is seen under the glass dome. Engraving takes an additional is 4-6 days and requires your prism catcher to be held until the engraving is ready to add.

Engraving is a separate order for $20 to be added to your suncatcher order(s). If engraving is desired please use the text box in the above listing. You have room for 20 - 30 characters and a choice of fonts: Arial, Clarendon Lt, Engravers Roman, Futura, Optimum Bol. Once I have your desired engraving from my local glass engraver, I will add the engraved cabochon (glass dome) to the top of your suncatcher(s).
