Turn any sunny window into a rainbow show with this handmade SunRain rainbow maker. Made in my Omaha studio, it uses 25 high-quality Egyptian lead-glass prisms from Asfour Crystals, each 2" long with 16 facets to spread light into vivid color. Arranged in a daisy-like circle, the prisms scatter sunlight into bright bands of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet that move across your walls, floors, and ceiling as the sun shifts. It works beautifully in east, south, or west windows, turning morning or afternoon light into moving art.

I created SunRain after hanging three in my granddaughter’s bedroom—now her room explodes with color on sunny days, with rainbows spilling into the hallway. The effect feels magical: a thin beam of white sunlight turns into dancing, confetti-like patterns of color. “There’s rainbows everywhere,” as my 6‑year‑old granddaughter said.

Each SunRain is built to last. Epoxy resin and tiny nails hold every prism firmly in place, combining sparkle with durability. Most SunRains come with a 2‑foot gold-colored chain, but you can also simply stand the piece in a window. The chain has a lanyard clip for easy hanging, and I include small gold nails if you prefer to mount it—just a hammer needed. It ships well protected in a sleek black gift bag, ready to give or display right away.
